I would be curious to know if a companion would help him. Some dogs that have been raised alone never bond to a new companion and they continue their stressful behavior, regardless of the other companion. If Archie is still playful then he would probably enjoy a companion but I would recommend a older pup or perhaps a female closer to his age. It would be important to try to match personalities. I know all you want to do is make your baby happy.
