Joey has access to his pretty much all the time, he's not a gulper so I don't have to watch him closely like you would with some dogs. Some sticks are much softer and more of a food, while the Merrick stick is more bone-like and they have to chew it quite a while to get off a tiny piece. I buy the Merrick brand on e-bay.
