Don't rush into cutting!
I would go on the grooming thread and ask some advice. If you cut the hair around his eyes you will always be stuck doing that. I think he is just in an awkward stage. If the hair grows out it will fall down his face and his eyes will be awkward!
PS he really is a cutie!
