Yesterday, Pita was outside on the porch playing with her best friend Jane (a young cat) when I hear her barking, so I go out to check on her and they are cornering a land crab! I don't see land crabs on my property that often but with all the rain and the hurricane one got on the porch.
Anyway I was trying to herd the crab into a box, (i didn't want to pick it up)
Pita rushes into the crab and it pinches her on the face with it's big claw!!
So she backs up and the claw comes off of the crab but is still stuck on Pita's face! I couldn't get it off! Pita, of course, is yelping away so I run in
the house yelling for my hubby who comes and pries this crab claw with all of his might! Pita settled down and thank goodness she wasn't hurt, it had just gotten fur, no skin. They must have some kind of locking mechanism!
What a fiasco! Pita had runny poops then slept on the couch the rest of the day. She's ok today, but yesterday was very traumatic for her!
Thank God for my Dudley do Right hubby! This happened not long after I had a "should I call an ambulance ?" asthma attack which he helped me thro.
All of this before 10 AM.
Too much drama too early in the day!!!
