We rescued a female lab mix when I was growing up and about 5 years later we got a beagle mix puppy and the lab mix had been fixed before we got the male beagle mix and it was like she adopted him as hers she cleaned his ears and face, softened bones for him, it was so cute of course when she had to be put to sleep due to disks in her back breaking he was a wreck, we all were but he lost soooooo much weight she was such a great dog but almost a year before she passed we got another beagle mix a girl and now the two beagle mixes are inseparable if she goes to the vet someone has to stay with him or he will make himself sick and if he goes to the vet she will bark at the door for the longest time.
