Seems they are inferring that 8 weeks would be long enough to mature and socialize! Maybe we all need to write to AKC and ask that they revise their site to at least include a statement about toy breeds requiring the longer end of that time frame. I think too often, people think it is fine to sell any dog over 8 weeks, not taking into account the differences between breeds.

Hope your "friend of a friend" has a better experience with the new puppy.
