I have to agree with this post. I can't imagine feeding a small dog just once a day...or any dog for that matter. We free feed Jo & Riley but they also get a small portion of soft food in the morning with their ML suppliment and Derm Cap drops. Both of our boys are on the small side...Jo is a couple days over 11 months and he only weighs a few ounces over 3 pounds...Riley is 5 months and about the same weight but he hasn't gained any in a month. Have you tried other dry foods? Maybe he just doesn't like the brand in his bowl. You might want your baby to gain some weight but be careful...if he's at an acceptable weight for his size/frame and he's in good health I'd leave it at that. Gaining weight when it's not really needed can put stress on the joints, heart etc. and cause other health problems as well. I have noticed that since we had Jo neutered and he's got a few months older he's filled out a smidge...he seems to have an extra layer now.
