Or the polio vaccine that was given to thousands in the 1950's and 60's which is now attributed to rare cancer formations in that population. Or perhaps the 1976 swine flu vaccination that killed over 300, not due to flu symptoms, but due to the Guillan-Barre Syndrome that was inflicted because of the vaccine. There are hundreds of other vaccination disasters that have occurred. The biggest misconception that most persons, not in the medical field maintain is that by getting the flu shot, they will not get the flu.
Just because you get the flu shot, does not mean that you are NOT going to get the flu. At any one point there are several different strains of one flu going around. The vaccination that you get, does not cover all these differing strains. It is not designed that way. The truth is a out there, for anyone willing to search for it, however, so are those people spreading wild theories without facts.
I was around in the 50's and I knew people that got polio, this was a very scary time, kids you played with were dying. I don't think you have any idea what that's like or how many lives it saved because of it. Those who were lucky enough to survive the illness were severely affected and crippled. This changed many lives and I was so happy to be able to protect my own children from this devastating disease. I understand that there are many strains of the flu, and the shot they give you is what scientists think will be the most common strain. Certain diseases are more deadly because the virus mutilates so rapidly that none of the population can be protected against them, and just the sheer number of people who can't work even though they aren't dying, puts a tremendous strain on everything and our health care system.
