You need to pluck the hair in the ear canal; it can cause moisture to stay in the ear, which can lead to an infection. It's fairly easy to pluck it, and some people use a special ear powder that makes it easy to grab, if you only pull the hair in the canal it doesn't hurt them and this should be done with a fast movement.
