for a 4 month old with super sharp baby teeth, it usually lasts 2 days before it's a small stub and i always throw them out before they are too short and she could choke on it while running around with it in her mouth.
i usually buy about 20 at a time. i don't give them all day everyday. you have to defin. be present when they eat those, the stuff sometimes gets stuck in teeth or roof of their mouths and you have to pull it off.
also, i use them when i'm home and ready to chill out, great babysitters they are!
i would get as many as you can afford to at once and just store them. they last in storage forever pretty much and you'll have them as long as you need them for!!
