Like others have said, there are lots of way to get your post count up. If you're not comfortable answering questions, don't worry about it.
Post pics or videos. Do some polls and give your opinion, welcome newbies, ask questions, review products in the product review section, play in the games section in off topic, post a treat recipe, or post a thread in off topic about something very random (lol).
Anyway, it's it does help to get to know you. Otherwise somebody would be sending a gift to and receiving a gift from somebody that they have never heard of before. Besides, addresses are exchanged and it's nice to be able to get comfortable with your buddy before that happens.
