Animal Smiley 019 Ripped pad/paw?

Hey everyone! I am so happy to have a resource like this one for help!

My 10 month old yorkie just recently (bout 10mins ago) started limping on his front left paw. I checked it out and at first the paw looks like the pad is ripped, or the webbed part between the pads....

He is not whining or bleeding. Only limping. He only seems annoyed when I try to mess with it.

When I got online to research he issue, I noticed him licking the wound and so I thot I'd give it another look and it looks more like a sore that is raw or something ( I will post pix ). There is no hair between the pads like on the right foot.

Again, I appreciate any help! A little background on Gixx, he's an inside dog, super playful (still is acting normal now).

I plan on taking him to the vet first thing in the morning just would like some advice incase anyone has seen anything like this before.

THANKS!
