Yes, you need to keep them separated. You can also use a baby onsie instead of the cone. If you put it onto him backward it will cover the incision and he will not need to be in the cone all of the time. Please be very careful with your little girl while she is in heat. You surely don't want any accidents.

You will be surprised how good your little man will be feeling tomorrow! They make such a quick recovery!
