I gave her a reason why she should not breed a 12 pound dog. It may not have been correct "according to your statistics", but it gavepeople something to think about and I am sure there have been yorkie surrendered because they were too large.
When YTers get nasty with these new posters, they leave and do what they intended to do in the first plasce, and the only thing they learned was not to hang around YT,
So you are not educating you are running people off.
The statement I made about 12 pound dogs ending ujp in rescues may not have been 100% accurate but it was not 100% wrong either. |
It all depends on what you call nasty. I don't really think some of your comments are all sweetie sweetie, but it sure as heck will not make me leave YT. Anyone who leaves, does so for their own reasons. Has nothing to do with a thread here or there....just my opinion of course.
And, I have to say that anyone who runs off and does what they intended to in the first place was not going to be convinced otherwise. No one was rude to a new poster.
Now...as to your remark about not being 100% wrong, actually I believe that you are indeed 100% wrong. I have been involved in rescue for 5 years and I have yet to have a yorkie surrendered due to size. Now, you said it is because people do not tell us the real reason for the surrender. The shape I see many of these pups in tells me that it had absolutely nothing to do with anything but the fact that people are irresponsible and do not take pet ownership seriously.
The main reason (your word was biggest) for surrender is not size. It is not even one of the main reasons!
Sadly, there are many people who believe what you said about rescue pups and our job is to inform people that it is not true. They are not all large yorkies and not all sick or with other issues! But, in saying that, let me tell you that there are many people with large hearts who will take the sick ones and/or badly bred yorkies and love them. There are some absolutely beautiful pups to be found in shelters. I have posted pics of my personal pups in the past .. some prettier than others, but all beautiful. All different sizes as well. Wonderful pets! I am not going to sit here and watch someone insinuate that rescue yorkies are rejects.
