So sorry for your loss, and I hope in time all your good happy memories of her will warm your heart. I have an aging schnauzer that I'm dreading making that decision for, but know when the time comes it will be the best final gift I can give him.
Someone posted a poem on a similar thread and I saved it. Hope this brings some confort:
The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
