I vaccinate mine at 9 12 and 16.

Kennel cough is very contagious, but really is not that serious. It is like a human cold. Your vet would probably put them on an antibiotic to prevent pneumonia, but the actual kennel cough will run it's course in 2 to 3 weeks.

Your dog can actually get kennel cough just walking through the vets waiting room if there is a sick dog in there.
