I don't know about dogs, but with premature human babies the girls are usually stronger than the boys. Both my son and my step granddaughter were preemies. They both did fine, but I don't think they would have survived without modern medicine. Now my granddaughter is 3 and is expecting a baby brother or sister in May, and my son is 17 and applying to dolleges! I'm not nearly mature enough for him to go off to college!
