If your Garmin gps has the capability of using chips, they are great! Not cheap but well worth the money. The chips are most up to date and they show everything, fish traps and all. I think you can program your trip on your laptop and then plug your laptop into your gps and that way you will have your hold trip uploaded. you can do it all comfortably rather than sitting in front of the gps. I'll have to get hubby to s'plain it to me. He's tied up getting ready for the boat show this week so not a real good time to ask him anything.
