I agree with Brister. Never to late to learn. just give him treats or praise and he will pick up in no time. They are very smart. The key is being consistent! Once you start, you should continue with the word/phrase. We have ours sit when a car is coming. We're still working on it but they know they need to sit. It's gotten to where when I say, "Car coming", they look around for it. lol. Even if they don't sit when it's coming I make them sit before we move a step, then I release by saying okay. But they mostly do it. Good luck and you'll have to take some videos and post.
