A story from work The other day I was in the concourse, my planes were clean, my gates were clean and I had some down time.
There was a flight that was originally scheduled to leave around 9:45, but due to bad weather, as I watched the board it changed to 10:30, then 11:00, something, and then close to 1:00.
I noticed a blind passenger sitting alone propped up on her Cane waiting patiently. They had not made verbal announcements about the time changes, because I guess the gate agent was waiting on them to stop changing it before notifying the passengers.
I am always very cognizant of my blind passengers, as I feel they need assistance in unfamiliar airports.
I went over to her.
"Would you like to go and get something to eat or drink or go to the restroom?"
"No, my flight is leaving soon and I will be ok until then."
"No , as of right now, your flight will not leave for a couple of hours."
"Oh , well in that case, I would like to go and get a beverage and go to the restroom."
We got her things together, and she took my arm. I took her to Corky's to get some iced tea, then to the restroom, and then back to her seat."
"Thank you so much."
"You're most welcome."
"I wanted to ask you, has the shuttle gotten to the moon yet?"
"No not yet, maybe 30 ,minutes from now."
Quietly she said
"A friend of mine and I did all of the engineering work that made that mission possible. I'm very anxious to see how it turns out."
You never know do you???
