You might try Braggs Organic Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar for Dogs by Alicia McWatters

or you might try Bag Balm which was created to heal cow udders that were all cracked etc. You can pick it up at Walgreen's...I use it for my chapped lips and have used it on the dogs many times..

What does the vet say?
At first the vet said that it was caused by the breakdown from all of the mats that he had and poor nutrition. But believe me, he is very well fed and groomed now. This area just does not seem to want to heal. He's very difficult when it comes to allowing me to touch him too much but I try to keep the hair trimmed back in this area. When I do there are like little granuals on the matted fur that I clip back. It does not cause him any pain what so ever and the vet didn't feel it needed treatment. I think I am going to try the Bag Balm. I'm not sure how I missed this post ?
