I live in Texas too and my vet does not recommend it. I know many vets recommend it and I know some that do not. From what I have been told that there are about 7 different strains of lepto and the vaccination does not cover all of them. I know that some areas the lepto is more common so in those cases you have to consider the life style of your dog. If your dog runs outside a lot where they could be exposed to the lepto then it might be a consideration.
