I have a carpet chewer as well! We got rid of the carpet, so we have just hardwood floors now, but he still does the same thing with rugs. Luckily I have the option of just pulling up the rugs and putting them away.. Something you can't do with carpet unfortunately. The best thing to do is just keep them supervised at all times. In fact I had to throw a rug away a couple of days ago because he ripped it apart when I wasn't watching him. Ahh...Yorkshire terrors
