My advice is find another vet. Our previous vet did not have experience with Yorkies so we needlessly dealt with minor problems that led to major ones before she did anything. I have found a wonderful vet who has lots of experience with small breeds and was able to diagnose Maddie's health problems immediatly and we were able to start treatment. I do have to drive 45 min. both ways but it is so worth it to have knowledgable vet.
