I have a few questions. Sweet Pea is 9 months old and my daughter noticed a spot of blood on her pee pad, so i turned her over and saw a little bit of blood on her "private" part.

I was going to go buy the doggie diapers but i noticed today (this is the 2nd day) that she "cleans" herself. On my daughter's bed where she sleeps was a small spot of blood where she was laying, even though she put pee pads all over the bed, but it was such a small spot of blood.

Does this mean she is now in "heat?" We take her for a walk every evening, so does this mean we can't until she is not in heat anymore, i know male dogs will be attracted to her "smell." How long does this last?

We tried to get her fixed, but she may have a Liver Shunt so the vet will not put her under anesthesia. But i will NOT allow her to have puppies even though family members are bugging me to let her have one litter.
