What i usually tell patients is don't do anything that dries the air around you. Usually the hoarseness is from the tube leaning on the vocal cords. I also suggest putting a humidifier at night in the room that your baby sleeps in. You want to keep the air moist. You can even take a steamy shower and let him sit in the bathroom with you.
Also if your little barks alot..i would try to limit that as much as possible. Good luck and keep us updated.
