If you know it's 'ideal', and the breeder knows it's 'ideal' for the pups to remain with the litter until 12 weeks of age, then why settle for anything less? Yes, I'm sure 'most' breeders release them too early--it seems like there is an overabundance of shady breeders, so that really comes as no shock. But just because 'most' do it, doesn't mean it's what is best and doesn't mean that a new owner should settle for it. Personally, I would prefer to go with the breeder looking out for what is 'ideal' for the dog, not one that's pushing them out the door the moment the state law allows.

If you acquired yours at and age that you admit was not 'ideal' and didn't experience any problems, then consider yourself lucky. Many are not so fortunate and many share their stories about it here on this forum. One may luck up and get a very young pup and never have any issues, but why even risk something that could be so easily avoided?
