PLEASE be careful about considering the surgery. From what I have read about the surgery and the success rates I really would not put mine through that.
I have a foster with CT and he is on a medication regimin that is keeping him stable. He went through a terrible time back in July. After three different antibiotics (the one that we got the best results with was Doxycycline) and the addition of Theodur and Lomotil he improved. He also is on Temaril P. He still has symptoms but much less than he did. He just needs to be kept cool and quiet.
When their symptoms get worse, often it is due to a respiratory infection. Pups with CT are more at risk for infections due to the fact there is not a great air exchange. An antibiotic often is the answer!
Also....with regards to pet insurance....they do not cover genetic problems! |
