Default Good Idea?

You ask a very hard question. Why not read through the old threads about breeding? Talk to some breeders and learn all you can. I, always tell people to start by going to dog shows...you might say you are not interested in showing, you just want to breed nice pets. Doing it that way is like riding in a car with your eyes shut. You can get in the car, but have no clue where you are going and how you got there.
It is wise to see what a quality line of Yorkies look like..read pedigrees and learn all you can before actually "getting in the car".

You will need a start up fund. Vet fees can be quite high in a non-emergancy and over the top for a c-section or illness. Mommies can have many problems, before, during and after a litter..so have the funds to help your dogs.
If you have a real passion to breed dogs, then by all means fullfill your dream, but educate yourself so your dogs will not suffer from your lack of knowledge to help them.
Remember, there is only one reason to breed and that is to improve the breed, not do harm by producing unhealthy, poor quality Yorkies.
