Hi all! Xena has recently (within the past 2 weeks) developed patches growing coarse black and red hairs. It started with one, and has grown to 3 areas. The areas are not bald, or red or itchy. She has always had a beautiful silver coat (you can see in my profile pics). She also seems to itch her face quite a bit.

My searches here led to Demodex, mange, and thyroid.

Does anyone recognize it? I am taking her to the vet tomorrow, but it's a new vet, and I like to be prepared.
