Hello -
My yorkie had luxating patella in both his back legs. Apparently, this is a common condition of yorkshire terriers. Last year he ended up tearing his cruciate ligament (similar to an ACL tear in humans) and we had to have surgery. While having surgery for the cruciate the surgeon fixed the luxating patella issue as well. I think she hollowed out the knee cap a bit so that the bone falls into place as opposed to popping out of socket.

Recovery wasn't bad. I couldn't let him jumpfor a couple months but now he is doing great. He is now a little over 5 years old.

What did the vet recommend?
