Most rescuers will do what I do...it is just that these guys are difficult for the shelters to adopt out. Many people are afraid of what they might be getting into...and it is understandable.
I took him to Angleton today. I felt just awful because he once again put his paws around my neck and clung to me. I hated to leave him but he is in excellent hands. He is being boarded at the vet until he can be seen and evaluated. They do boarding in addition to being a vet and have a lovely facility. He is in a huge run all to himself with a fleece bed and blanket that I left for him and some squeaky toys (although he did not seem to understand what they were...poor guy). He will most likely be in her home before the end of the week.
I will be sure to post updates on him. I always get updates on pups I take to her...she is a wonderful person and is as careful about placing them as I am. The first and most important thing is the people must have stellar vet references! I am still not sure if he will be a YHR pup or not. I will also update on that.
Oh...and Flopsy Mopsy...I think she is going to leave his name as Sonny!
As for the timeline, it was the easiest transport I have ever been involved in...it was meant to be!!
