Those are both very common in the infection of urinary tracts for both dogs and humans, as the habitat for these bacteria are our own intestional tracts, soil, vegetation, water etc. Proteus Mirabilis is a gram-negative motile swamer, it does not stay in one colony but migrates, definitely not a good thing. PM usually is treated with ampicillin and aminoglycosides(gentamycin, tobramycin, amikacin).

You also stated her ph was high. Eating a diet high in carbohydrates; vegetables and grains, increase the ph level and allows bacteria to grow and develop in their bladder.Complete Proteins, such as those found in meat, increase the acidic quality of their urine. I would check the ingredients of her kibble or what you are feeding her and see if the first 5 contain corn, or its byproducts or grains. This could account for the ph level . So the infection could be a secondary issue to a more complicated underlying problem.

Definitely speak with a vet you feel comfortable with and/or a holistic doctor who is educated in internal medicine. Even a nutritionist at this point could be of some help.

Hope this helps..
