Can you describe the smell and where is it coming from? It could an issue w/ yeast. Dogs should express their anal glands by themselves - I wouldn't start the manual practice of it unless there is a reason to do so - it can interfere w/ their natural ability to then do it.

If your baby is having clogged anal glands - you may need to switch foods and/or check w/ vet that nothing structurally is wrong.
