hmmm... don't know much about that type of skin issues- but I would suggest changing his food. I believe Royal Canine contains corn which can cause skin problems as it is an allergen to dogs. Also stay away from any food that has chicken as its main protein as that too is an allergen (my Layla is horribly allergic to chicken). Hopefully someone else can help further- but that would be my first attempt at solving the problem.
