How exciting and welcome to YT. I know you will learn a lot while here and make a lot of new friends.
I have one question - you said that she is due any day now and you will be bring home the new puppy the end of Dec. Will your puppy be 12 weeks old? It is best with yorkies to wait till they are 12 weeks min. before leaving their breeder's home. There is so much they can learn still from their mom, since they are a terrier. So for socialization. And best to wait for another reason - since yorkies are prone to getting hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if they leave too young. Just changing homes at a young age can be stressful for them and can drigger an attack. Due to these two reasons many breeders will keep yorkie pups till they are at least 12 weeks of age. It just makes adjustment for the pup and new owner so much better. I think if timing is right - that would be 12 weeks old, but just wanted to make sure you knew about this to make sure.
One thing I do when we have pups is to walk on my hands and knees where the pups will play and get exercise. This allows me to puppy proof the area. Cords, pieces of things, corners, etc...
Again - big congratulations!! Welcome!!
