Is that ok? did I do an ok job? Like those ears are totally SHAVED.
I never noticed yorkie's ears have a little slits on the sides?
At first I thought I nipped his ears, but both sides have it I guess???
Was this where I was supposed to keep hair there? for a reason?
Breeders???

Yorkies ears have a tendency to go up and down while they are teething. You can help the ears by trimming them and tape the ears up. Some ears take awhile to stand up, some have no trouble and stand right up from the get go, and some never stand. If the ears are longer and have thicker leather skin to the ear - those tend to have the most trouble.
Yes, you did trim too much off, but he is young and it will grow back. Next time only trim from the tip down to about 1/4 of the ear. Both sides and the edges. But only 1/4 of the ear down from the tip. You can also make his rounded ears look more pointed by allow a tip or point to the hair when you trim it. When you groom them, before their bath shave the ear that 1/4 from the tip on each side of the ear - front and back. Bathe. Then after the bath and while wet take your fingers and run the hairs along the edge of the ear out to the side and then trim with scissors down from the point of the ear down along the edge to 1/4 of the ear, making sure not to cut the ear. When the hair is wet you can see this edge of the ear better. Do the same to both edges and then you are finshed. There are directions out there on the Internet with photos and even one is a YouTube video. There is also a video out by SweetyBlue how to groom your yorkie like the pros.
Best of luck with your baby.
