I once had a person tell me that my 2lb Suri was huge! She went as far as bringing her dog in and it turned out her doggie was 3X bigger than Suri. He was a cutie, I can't say as much for his owner!!
I think the rat comments and little furry animal comments are refering to their size. To some people it is more of an endearing comment. Like when I use to take Suri to the softball field the security guard would always ask me where the batteries went. (I always thought that one was funny) But the ones that tick me off are the, "My dog could kill your dog in a second", or "Look my dog was to bit your dog." I'm like are you serious! That crap makes me so very made. There is a guy at the softball field that kept saying that over and over, and finally I turned and told him..."I would like to see you or your dog try to hurt my dog, because that will be the last thing either of your do!!" I know, I know it wasn't very nice and I wouldn't hurt anyone but it made me so upset!! He never talked about me or my dog again.
