Hi. I've just found this website, and I have enjoyed reading a few of the threads. I'm sure if I had searched harder, I could have found the answer to my question, but I wanted to post anyway, just to introduce myself.

I have a female yorkie (well, 2 actually) that I plan to breed. My question is this: is it true that you should not breed them on their first cycle, no matter what the age of the dog when this occurs? If she has her first cycle at 11-13 months, would it be ok to breed her? Right now, she is 9 months, and shows no signs of cycling anytime soon, but I realize it could be next week! I'm just curious as to what the "rule of thumb" is.
