I prefer tramadol over any nsaid as nsaids have alot of side effects unlike narcotics - my dd is still jacked up from one dose of metacam now granted the vet gave it to her on empty stomach and she is on steroids so that is a huge no no but i am not a fan of nsaids after this as her intestines have been messed up ever since - narcotics like tramadol are much safer pain med but they do not have an anti-inflammatory agent in them as they are strictly for pain
