Something I'll add, if your Vet doens't use or know about Metacam, I'd question their proficiancy doing a spay on a small breed. Most even use different instruments as it's not the same as a large breed. Thee are more/different risks such as they can bleed out quicker and it's not as easy to see if they are so they need to be much more aware of what to watch for and be prepared to act quicker. That's my layman translation of one of the critical things I learned.
