At 4 weeks of age, I usually only begin to introduce them to a gruel, twice a day. Usually when mom is out excising and increase the feedings as mother's milk changes consistency and begins to diminish. I don't begin to add kibbles until I feel those lil milk teeth coming in. My mother's call the shots on the weaning process, but usually by 10 weeks of age she's not sleeping with them anymore....but, is with them most of the day and stays with them until they go to their forever homes between 12 and 16 weeks.
