Default Yay! We are making the switch to raw! Couple of questions.

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted, I've been so busy with school. I wanted to share with you all that we are finally making the switch to raw! We are doing prey model with kibble in the mornings. I will eventually take them off the kibble completely but I wanted to find an alternative to feeding PMR in the morning. You see, I normally wake up, let the dogs out, feed them breakfast, and go back to sleep (I'm a lazy college student ). I don't like the idea of waiting 20-30 minutes while they finish a leg or back or breast so I was wondering what you all thought of me making my own "grind" if you will for the mornings (and also for when we're out of town to make it easier on my parents). It would probably be whatever meat source plus some liver/organ meet and some borage oil (Ark Naturals Royal Coat). Is there anything else I need to add? What should I be careful of?

Aside from that, they are making the transition wonderfully! We are starting with chicken drumsticks with the skin cut off. In a couple of weeks we will add other proteins and begin to add liver and organ meat.

Oh one last question, how often should they be getting bone? It's 80% protein, 10% bone and 10% organ meat (with 1/2 of this being liver), correct? I'm sure I will eventually get the hang of it but I'm having a hard time getting the percentages right in my head and I want to make sure they're getting all the proper nutrients.
