I don't think it's the quality of food that is making him want to do that. I have tried several foods with my Bull terrier and she still insists on snacking on her poop AND my yorkie's occasionally. I have heard if you give them pineapple to eat it makes their poop taste bad.
I tried Blue and I liked it. Both my dogs ate it and did well except got a bit itchy from it so we switched.
