Mine stayed and when I picked them up in the morning they were fine! You have to consider that he will be sleepy and on pain meds after surgery and will really not care he is in a different environment. Personally unless you are very comfortable bringing him home the very best place would be at the vet for observation after his neuter. To help put your mind at ease even more, the incision is VERY tiny and there are only a few stitches. When I went to pick my boys up (I had Bogey done at the same time) they were soooo happy to see me. Good luck.
Thank you! Of course, I know that he will be on meds! I wouldnt dream of having him do it otherwise during the procedure. I was more considered with what they will give him afterwards, like those morphine patches are not good for small dogs. So I was just curious as to what kinds of meds will be given, because they wanted to send him home with two different kinds of medicines.

I am really worried so that you so much for the support, I really appreciate it.

I was quoted between 350-450 for pricing.. does that sound normal?
