Default My Yorkie is pregnant. Please help!

My Yorkie was bred while I was on vacation. My mother-in-law was watching our "kids" for us while we were away. My female went into heat late. Looking back, I guess I should have seen this coming since she goes into heat a month later every year. My mother-in-law has a male and said that they "coupled" on August 7th 2009 which puts her due date at 10/09/09. I am not completely new at breeding as I've bred German Shepherds before but I wasn't planning on breeding her. I know that there can be problems with small dogs and c-sections and really I want to know what to look for. I have an x-ray scheduled for 10/05/09 so that I know how many puppies to expect. What else should I look for? I am really worried for her safety as she is like a child to me. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
