Don't where I read this but a couple of thing come to mind. Put their food in something like a Kong where they have to work to get it or put some large stones (too large for them to swallow) in the dish with their food. This forces them to eat more slowly around the stones to get at their food.

Hopefully, some other members will have other suggestions.
