They are so cute together!

Ginger is amazingly full of energy. I'm so glad she's gained some weight through this crisis. It will help her as she faces surgery, don't you think?

Gosh, I still hate the thought of her going through major surgery when she is so tiny though.

What are the details with UT? Do you go for a check-up prior to going for the surgery or is it all done in one visit? (Meaning is the surgery date actually set?)

Sending good thoughts your way today!
Yes, I am so grateful that Dozer thinks he is a lil dog, too! BUT in saying that, he is also VERY gentle with all of the little ones, including Ginger.

The goals of waiting a month until surgery were: 1. get more booster shots 2. gain more weight 3. Become stronger 4. manage with diet and meds to see if they can have "better" test results (they would like the scintigraphy to show the shunt much more localized)

From my knowledge, when we go back, she will have surgery. She will have another scintigraphy done to see if the shunt is more localized and from there proceed to surgery. Recovery time in the hospital is 2-3 days and then she can come home.

I will be staying with my in-laws while in TN and I think my MIL may be going down with me to Knoxville on the 8th. I am taking my laptop to TN with me so I will be giving updates as I recieve them.

I can't imagine what she will be like after surgery if she is already like THIS! She is into everything! It makes me happy b/c I can see that she is not hurting and does not feel sick. I tell her all the time "having a liver shunt is no excuse to be bad, Miss Gingy. Be a good girl for Mommy." I still don't think she gets it... but then again, the spoiling isn't helping either!
