It depends on how much the sun is out to be quite honest. When it's cold enough that I need my mittens, a coat, or if I shiver, I bundle them up in their coats. Mine are bigger yorkies too (10 & 13 pounds) so they can probably take more of the cold than one that is smaller. If your little one is acting cold, just make sure to bundle him/her up. I was told that coats are needed for yorkies since they dont' have an undercoat like other dogs & I believe that. Buster & Bailey are much happier when they have a little coating on them on those chilly days.
