You can try a short list of different names you like and she'll let you know which one she likes. The one she consistently responds to. Our cat Buffy was originally named something else, I can't even remember what it was now..LOL we nursed her as a foundling, so it was a name we gave her. Anyway, she flat out would not respond to it. She was probably about 5-6 mths old when we realized we were being dissed. We're not the brightest bulbs in the lamp. She ignored the name and us. We finally gave up and tried several names, each one for about a day, she ignored and ignored. One day we tried Buffy, she flipped her head around and came, and she has responded to that name ever since. She picked her own name. Took about six names for us to get it right.
